Dwellered
I've a Mac version of Baldur's Gate 3 so I'm interested in downloading and installing mods on that machine. I understand that the files which BG3 uses are machine independent so should work on an Apple Silicon Mac as well as a PC platform.I"ve found this online guide which is most helpful for manually patching the BG3 files.. But what I am unable to do is download URL's with the prefix nxn: which I assume is Nexus. Can somebody tell me how I download them without nexus? Thanks in advancehttps://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/15cksse/manual_modding_in_bg3_specifically_for_macos_users/
kurojushi
As far as I can tell, bink2w64 does not exist anywhere in the BG3 files. If you navigate to Users/'YourUserNameHere'/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3, right click on the app and Show Package Contents and navigate to Contents, there's no bin directory. There's no trace of any of the libraries that need to be replaced for the Native Mod Loader or the Achievements Enabler, unfortunately. Our best bet is to contact that author of those 2 mods and request they either give details instructions for Mac users or wait for a version that supports Mac. daguerre
My nxn URLs don't even work on Windows, but you don't need them anyway; just select "Manual Install" on the mod's page and you will download a .zip containing (usually) the .pak file which goes in your Mods folder which on Mac is likely to be at the user's /Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/Mods/You'll need to edit /Username/Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/PlayerProfiles/Public/modsettings.lsx with a text editor, search for the procedure.Mods that are more than simply a pak file, and that modify Windows libraries or executables are NOT platform independent, someone will have to recreate that mod for Mac. BirdToTheThird
Sadly, I tried the mod manager and had no luck. Most of the mods I tried were ignored by BG3, and looking at modsettings.lsx, it just stayed in its default state. Others just led to a "Can't Create a Story" message. Most of the mods I tried were pretty recent, post-Patch 3, and other people have had luck with them. For reference, this is a Steam-based copy of BG3. My version also didn't come with an actual "Gustav" mod; is that normal?Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed! Thanks.
