CountFuzzball
Can anyone say yay or nay if the UNP face textures aren't conforming to the skin shade selected when using showracemenu ingame? Is this a feature or a bug?The rest of the body on my character shades/unshades as normal, but the face doesn't change. I haven't tried it in the chargen at the start of the game.Using a Breton female, no custom races + UNP + UNP face textures.
CountFuzzball
Slight bump. Seems the problem is that I'm a vampire race character, so for some reason the skin shade of the face texture isn't updating, but the rest of the body does. Should I need to replace the vampirerace files too with the head texures, or could that be asking for trouble? DemongelRex
No you can do that. However, if you are using an ENB, you will find neck seams which makes it look as if the textures for the head and body do not match. This is because ENB doesn't handle the body as its own entity, rather it does Hands, Body, Feet, and Head separately because of the different meshes. Now you can change the vampire face textures if you want by: Copying the female head files to a temp folder, adding vampire to the end (EX. femaleheadvampire.dds, femaleheadvampire_msn.dds, etc.),then copy those files back into the folder for face textures and delete the temp folder. CountFuzzball
Like I said, I'm not using anything other than the custom body mod and the custom face textures that Dimon has up. Having said that, I just tried it using vanilla textures and meshes only on a fresh new game. Then in the helgen keep, did 'player.setrace bretonvampirerace' followed by 'set playerisvampire to 1' and then did 'showracemenu' as usual. Sad thing is, even with *vanilla* textures and meshes, this bug still appears. Bottom line is, I cannot change my character's skin colour as a vampire race even in the vanilla game without getting rather irrational head/body mismatches. I also checked through some old threads on this and it seems nobody else has found a solution to this. So frustrating.
patcazzo
I don't know about problems with skincolor and vampires I rarely play as vampire but I already had a lot of problems with neckseam and the following two mods are in my opinion the best mods to get rid of it. This mod will help with the neckseam/color missmatch: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29791/? The mature-texture is in my opinion the best texture for unp and has no neckseam (has also alternate textures to make the characters younger again) : http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32986/? CountFuzzball
I saw this thread which goes into detail of the issue, but admittedly no conclusive fix for it: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/759432-vampire-head-discoloration-doesnt-match-body The problem may be the facegen data/how the vampire race overlay is applied to the character, but it's really weird that there is no reliable way to fix this. I love that mature texture, patcazzo. From the screenshots it seriously brings an awful lot of 'life-ness' to the character's faces.
