Melee Root Reduction/Removal and/or Bullet Stagger

Every FPS I've ever played does not have this problem. Granted it could just be me. However in Starfield I get rooted (can't move my character) whenever I'm attacked by melee. Sure the root is only about a second but it's long enough that it is extremely frustrating. I don't play many modern FPS games so I don't know if this is now the norm or not. If it is then it really shouldn't. If I get hit by a knife, axe, hammer or any melee weapon I want to get out of melee range ASAP. Not stand there like a big dummy. If it's really just a stagger effect then shouldn't the character stumble a bit? Then again shouldn't the character stumble from every bullet that hits? Where is the consistency?

 

I say give the player the option if they want realistic stagger. I may disagree with the melee stagger but at least give me the option to remove it for my playthrough. For me it is ruining an otherwise awesome game.
