Survival

[Hunger]

Food matters, hunger meter, and maybe drink as a sepparate meter. Food items as a sepparate category. Food buffs need retweaking, nutrient complexity. Toxins and detoxins. Complex crafting for food and chemistry.

[Oxygen]

Make oxygen meter if the suit is in use. New item "Oxygen Tank" already exists in game just need to make it lootable and item icon. Also complex crafting recipes for different variations and volumes.

[Energy]

Make suit use energy, pack use energy. On more advanced suits maybe like Fallout 4 power armour energy systems. Energy items exists as clutter and non-lootable items already. Craftable recipes.

[Reactor]

Make ship use energy. Different energy sources for different ship reactors. Items need adding and ship need sepparate compartment storage for energy items. Complex crafting and new ship modules.

[sleep]

Make sleep meter, need safe bed. Meter refills realistic and does not max out if you sleep for just an hour.

Item QoL

[Weapon mods swappable]

Make weapon mods craftable without having the weapon at the work bench. Mod items need adding with world mesh and item icon. Removable weapon mods end up in inventory and can be installed on other "compatible" weapons. Something like the mod system in Fallout 4, as Starfield uses the Fallout 76 crafting system.

[suit mods swappable]

Same as weapon mods.

[ships are location bound]

Make ships location bound and not the invisible hangar that is always accessable. Hangars are a rentable service for storing different ships. Why? Keep reading.

[store and swapp ship modules]

Ship modules can be removed and stored at the hangar system. A module from a sertain ship can then be removed and added to a different ship, if at the same hangar. The hangar can house ship modules. Entire ships can be dismantled and stored. Special ship storage can store and transport ship parts and modules from one hangar to another if moving base. Ship modules need adding as items. Some different item system, need icons.

Bethesda will release a game mod tool like creation kit next year. Then we will all get the game we have waited for, eventually. I personally feel like we need a big realism overhaul, the likes of Horizon for Fallout 4.
