BG3 not recognising "Origin" rolls

I downloaded a couple of compilations, now ingame it won't recognise "check rolls" with Origin characters. You can interact with them, but if you have to roll the dice, eg strength check to release Gale, the dice don't appear and you're left standing there like a dummy. The game hasn't frozen as such, but you can't can't back out or move on.

 

Is there a way to fix this or, mass dump the mods safely and return the game back to vanilla safely?
