Vortex Problem?

Vortex isn't loading mods right and best I can figure, its STORING the mods in a separate folder, but its not USING the mods in the separate folder

"Open Game Folder" and "Open Mod Folder" opens the exact same folder, the Starfield Game folder under steamapps.

 

Meanwhile Vortex is telling me the Mod Staging Folder is in a completely different area under settings

"{USERDATA}\{game}\mods"

 

So when I load starfield, none of my mods load.

I've only got 5 currently but none of them are loading.

Which mods? What version of the game steam or gamepass?



There also may be particular requirements not met for your installed mods. For example I installed SFSE with vortex. However it did not put the required files in the root of the Starfield directory. I had to fix that myself and set the primary tool to launch SFSE to where it should be.

 

Baka Achievment Enabler now works as SFSE is running where it wasn't before, because SFSE was in the wrong place and could not find starfield.exe

 

However there should be files in your Starfield directory depending on whats modified.

For example the StarUI mod, there is the Interface folder within the Data folder. Inside that folder there should be this file: __folder_managed_by_vortex

Had the same problems as Bilgediver described (steam version) and did the SFSE fix as maximuminfinte described and now it works. Yay!
