Basic Modding Help

Hello,

I'm new to the site, and new to using the G.E.C.K. and the mods. I recently found a very interesting mod that allowed players to look like the characters from Warhammer 40k (I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about) and have had difficulty in getting it to work properly, along with a few other mods. I can't get it to load correctly (referring to the WARHAMMER40K_ARMOR_Version_6_Full-4651 mod), and I have reviewed the Readme's to these mods and have had no luck...I was wondering, when it tells you to move the file(s) to the DATA folder in the Fallout 3 directory, does it mean just the .esp file, or ALL the files, including the textures and the rest? With the Warhammer 40k mod, I can enter the standard add.item commands for the armors, and they appear in the Pip-Boy's screen, yet when I switch views, the character has a big red square with a white exclamation mark upon it. Oh, and I was wondering if my having installed Fallout 3 in the "Program Files" directory, and running Windows Vista Home Premium, might have anything to do with it. I know it's probably a simple question that can be rectified, but I wasn't sure, and the Readmes didn't offer any extensive help. I am also having trouble with a mod called AnEveningWithMrManchesterv104-5630: the building textures won't load, and there will be red cubes with exclamation marks in the middle--ironically, I've seen this before, when my Oblivion game had conflicts with the Downloadable Content when I played it on Xbox 360 offline, without playing it online through Xbox Live. Anyway, any hints and tips that anyone can offer is much appreciated, and thanks!

Sincerely,

Deeke

Post Script

I don't know if it matters, but I am running the 64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, and the Fallout 3 directory is under "Program Files x86", not the standard "Program Files" directory.

Thanks!

Those red squares basically mean the mod assets such as meshes and textures are not in the correct folders.

The general idea is meshes should be in Fallout3\Data\meshes, textures in Fallout3\Data\textures, et cetera.

If the needed files are not in the respective folders, it may mean that UAC is blocking the access to the Fallout3\Data folder.

Thank you for clarifying that, and it makes sense.
