The Feylock's Surprise Friend

Nurea's pact was born of a, perhaps concerning, childhood friendship with the mischievous denizens of the forest. Her pact was long and thoroughly woven in games and observations of the world, her parents distracted by their other children, her true teachers were the sprites that would visit for games.

In her maturity, she found civilization stressful, her values forever altered by the wilds and its own range of difficulties and freedoms; a preferable dalliance that she may visit. In her pact with to the great Archfey that the Sprites were beholden to, she found the means to defend herself in those wilds, and as her pact grew, finally, she was promised one of her friends of her youth that would guide her and play just as before.

The ritual began, and the grove dimmed as the trees above crested their branches above the clearing, the swirling patterns drawn into the dirt began to reform... into a Pentagram? Fire burst from the ground, and clawing from the depths was not a diminutive little friend, but a slobbering red bat-winged creature, taking in the air around them, looking at Nurea's befuddled face, and bursting into laughter!
"Psyche! You got Played, fool! You're MY friend now!"
