AtomsChosen
Simple question. Lets say I want to edit a vanilla weapon instead make a copy of it then edit it, can rename the ID of it to prevent conflicts from other mods using the same piece of data in the creation kit? niston
Yes. Creating a copy and then editing is is good practice even. However, when you create a copy, that is already a new object with a new Form ID - no matter the Editor ID.The Editor ID is for identification in the editor (Creation Kit) and will be renamed automatically by the editor if there are conflicting Editor IDs as plugins are being loaded. AtomsChosen
Thank you for the clarification. I general I usually copy stuff then edit like that, but I wanted to know just in case I find a situation where I wanted to edit a Vanilla object. greekrage
yes this is a golden rule...we NEVER edit anything vanilla...Always duplicate and rename...
