Montiness Posted September 18, 2023 Share Posted September 18, 2023 Hello, I don't have masses of time anymore to look in to doing this myself, and honestly am probably not capable of it anymore due to other circumstances. My thought is for the perk system to more closely follow the older games "use skill get better" approach 1. Perk points removed on level up2. Current level one requirements to unlock level 2 become a condition for granting level 1.3. At this time the game grants 1 perk point, automatically assigns it to the skill and unlocks the next progression requirement.4. Balancing progression requirement as perk points are no longer required. Can scale with current mechanic to begin and work from there. Thank you for your time and consideration. mauvecloud Posted September 19, 2023 Share Posted September 19, 2023 Interesting idea, but I see one obstacle: several skills unlock abilities at level 1 that are necessary to meet the conditions to unlock level 2. I can state from personal experience that Boost Pack Training, Stealth, and Negotation work this way, and I expect Diplomacy, Intimidation, Instigation, and Xenosociology also have the same problem. Montiness Posted September 19, 2023 Author Share Posted September 19, 2023 Soooooo they can be unlocked anyway through commands. Not an obstacle, just a balance thing. Getting values right to not overpower it is the major issue. Also with the master tier ones to unlock once the count of skill points in the area hits 16 or something. Not a biggy.
