Spaceship economy rework needed

Here is a suggestion about economy in the game that could enhance the spaceship progression : be more expensive.

 

Actually spaceship and its mods are really cheap, destroying interest of capture/steal ship (to use or sell them) but also to "tie" player to it (being restricted to use a ship and progresively upgrade it to your taste instead of just going to the spaceport with you 100k credit and buy one after un bunch of hours of gameplay).

 

Dont know if thats possible actually (without the SDK), there is some variable about vendors dont seems possible to affect only spaceship building parts and spaceship value.

The entire game economy needs fixed. Besides being able to sell a few food items and able to afford a ship part, you get ridiculous amounts of credits for completing quests. With the right options I've finished the Vanguard questline with over 400K in just quest completion rewards. I never sell anything because of the insane amount of credits I get completing quests.

 

I'm slowly working on a mod to fix the economy, starting with adjusting the values of items you can sell, then I'll be adjusting how much ship parts cost, and then, if adjusting the parts doesn't do it, I'll adjust how much a ship costs. Final step would be to reduce or eliminate the credit rewards for completing quests, and adding in a salary system for those that join one of the factions (I mean, do they expect the Freestar Rangers to work for free?!). I want to be able to make it so that you can open a bank account with GalBank and any money deposited in there gets interest, with the option to have your salary sent straight to it, or to your character.

 

Some of this will have to wait for the official mod tools to come out, but I think I can get most of it done with just xEdit.
