azurewrath44 Posted September 25, 2023 Share Posted September 25, 2023 The title says it....I wanted to play a Ranger who was primarily an Archer. I chose the archer fighting style...then, nothing. There are no archery feats (for bows- one for a crossbow). The bow itself only gives you two very weak archer shots- Hamstring and Brace Yourself. That's it. Even as a fighter you get a ton of options of different shots to shoot your bow! Why doesn't a Ranger, who is supposed to be the Ultimate Archer? Why Does archery feel so incredibly weak? An average hit may do 10 damage to one target. You can use special arrows...which are expensive and are limited and still aren't really all that strong. Yet if you are a fighter fighting in melee you can do dozens of hitpoints, easy. A wizard can do even more. Two weapon fighting is good, even clerics and Druids can do Okay damage...but not the poor Archer Ranger. Why is that? They really DESPERATELY need a buff. A BIG one...or two...or three! If Larian won't balance it properly, would someone consider making a mod to buff archery skills? Give rangers some additional archer skills. Increase the damage they deal with bows, by A LOT.
