How to have addonnodes disabled by dismemberment?

I am having an attached 3D model to a robot that gives robots a headlamp. It use addonnodes that tell it to place lights at certain locations. That is all fine and good, but I want the Addonnodes to be disabled if the mesh they are attached to gets dismembered. Currently the addonnodes just float there.
