Does Cyberpunk change the perception on the beauty of women?

I have to admit, most females in this game have an unnatural, highly attractive appearance. Some time I had a date with a guy who openly stated that he would like my body but when it comes to my face I should wear a paper bag. I consider my face normal-looking and not too attractive nor too ugly.

I think games like Cyberpunk change the perception of men (and women) when it comes to outer appearance. So if you are not hyper-attractive these days you are basically screwed.

You guys know what I mean?

It's not just Cyberpunk 2077. It's the general portrayal in media.

In movies and TV shows, rarely do you have leading women (or men) who are physically average-looking (like, go out onto the street average, not Hollywood ugly). This skews perception way more than video games, which, despite being a 183 billion dollar industry, is far eclipsed by the combination of the movie (95.45 billion dollars box office alone) and television (222.5 billion) industries.

I think it is just society in general depending on age group. Different age groups have differing opinions on what they find attractive in people. It isnt always the case though and usually stems from people that dont want to grow up. With all these filters on Tiktok, FB, and other platforms it is essentially false advertising to people. My SO's son who is in high school has a way over standardization of his ideal girl he would date. Essentially he will only date instagram models. Yet he looks very average, slightly overweight, and dress like all teens do now. Like homeless people in baggy sweat pants, hoody, and sandals/crocs.

Ive always been more attracted to average/normal looking people. They are usually the more down to earth, considerate, and well versed group of people. Most people that are overly attractive are either 1. stuck-up 2. cant carry a conversation about anything other then what is on tv or social media 3. will drop you as soon as someone more attractive or "cooler " arrives on scene 4. Try to hold onto their party style youth for way to longer then is appropriate. I've dated a few in my youth and 9 times out 10 are not worth the effort or energy.

These of course are my own opinions and dont means others have the same, but It is based on my own life experiences and travels.

I did notice the lack of body proportions settings when creating your character, however the game itself hyperbolizes body modifications which make majority of the game NPCs look very unattractive from outside, like Animals or Maelstroms. And game universe kinda ignores the outside appearance. Saying that, it is entirely possible to create your character that only their mother will love :)

No, ... to be honest .. in Cyberpunk many girls or women seem very normal, not to pretty compared to what i can find on Onlyfans.
Misty or Judy for example look like the girls over here where i live.

But are they my taste? no.
Why are they attractive to some of the CP Fanbase? because compared to other females in the game they are kinda different. Like you have these generic asian NPC characters that al look a bit similar to me, this is not the case with many asian women i know personally.

As for what one finds pretty.. i created what i find pretty myself via 3D long time ago, so far no game provided a character like mine.

example
Sadly i can not re-create her in cyberpunk...i got to lazy and exhausted converting my cinema 4d / Daz creations into other software with every new update of all these programs.

Anyway, while there are many men (and women) getting attracted to the characters in games, i think it is because of they like what they see because what they see is the "best option" within the spectrum of available characters in the game.

I remember when i was young i liked some specific actresses, when i then got to know prnography i wondered why i liked the actresses and shifted my interest towards specific actresses in prn.
Then with the rise of OnlyFans and the massive ammoutn of girls creating content with elf ears, vampire fangs and ahegao face, i look back at actresses from traditional prn and somehow feel ashamed.. because the onlyfans girls are so much more into my taste spectrum. ( not all of course, these days "ugly" content creators exist.. those who look liek overweight cashiers from walmart...hehe, but hey, whats ugly to me is desireable to someone else).

No. Folks preferences are folks preferences. In real relationships its rare that a partner will check every box beauty or otherwise, and we all age. However, every form of media and every new generation over the ages has been accused of ruining values and creating unrealistic expectations. This is just one opinion of a random internet person, You're entitled to what ever you believe. All of us being different and having unique perspectives helps society evolve.
