Can't Equip Spells From Mods

Hi there!

 

Recently i've encountered a small but annoying error in my modded Skyrim playthrough, It seems some of the spells that have been added by mods cannot be equipped. I click on the spell in my 'Magic" tab and it puts a black arrow next to the spell as it normally should, but the arrow neither has an 'R' or 'L' written in it. Even though it doesn't say 'R' or 'L', whatever hand i equip it to, it just makes my hand empty as if I was fighting bare handed. This happens across a few of my mods, but it seems to effect the mod "Vilja Companion" the most. I'd greatly appreciate any response or help given!

So far, I've not been able to equip Clarion Call, Battle Cry or Dibella's Compulsion. They are also blank under "school" "level" and "cost". Spells from the Apocalypse Mod have no issues. Nor do any other mods, so far. I use LOOT to sort. *and if any of this looks ridiculous, pardon me, I've not modded in years*

Are you certain that the spells in question don't work as shouts?

Haha yep, I came on here to say the very thing. First time using SkyUI and shouts are listed with spells....threw me off. As well as Dibella's Compulsion being called a "spell" . Sigh.

I have the same problem with mods that are activated by spells, I can't equip those spells, no R (Right) or L (left) show on the mark when I select them.

I know this is two years later...but I'm having the same problem. Not sure WHAT I added that changed it. It used to work just fine. If anyone could help I would REALLY appreciate it. Here is my loot list. I just opened that game one day without really adding any stuff and it didn't work anymore.
