Mods loading in order of download, can't edit the load order. Can anyone help?

I can't find anything online, or anything in the documentation, which tells me how to load mods in the correct order. Because I downloaded mods in a more or less alphabetical order, redscript, cet, and other essential mods load way later than any other mod. Vortex doesn't show any conflicts, but the load order is cooked anyways. nothing shows up in the load order tab either. I feel like I'm going insane.
Due to this issue, my cyberpunk keeps flatlining, and not even disabling the mods is helping... i was able to play fine before installing any mods, but now i can't even launch the game

What do you mean by flatlining? I had a similar issue with getting an instant crash report even before getting to the first black loading screen. Even after disabling ALL mods. For me it was Reshade which didn't play along with the GOG overlay and which was of course still active because its not a mod inside Vortex. After disabling the overlay it worked like a charme.

yeah i was talking about instant crash too, and i hadn't downloaded any non-vortex mods, so idk where the problem is coming from.

"redscript, cet, and other essential mods load way later than any other mod"

These mods don't need a load order, all that matters is they are in the correct location, best way to check that is too download manually, the folder will tell you the file path, or in the mod download page click on preview file contents. For CET for example you just drag the bin folder into the game folder for manual install.

Mods in the archive folder are sorted alphabetically, some folks just rename the file and add a Z_ to the front, last has priority. But that may not be required unless the mod author suggests it.

This is not like other games as far as load order is concerned, but the correct location is vital.

Edit: most mods that require CET don't overwrite anything, but if you find one that does, the mod author will state what has to be installed first.

Also make sure all the mods are updated to the game version you are using, currently patch 2.01
