[MOD REQUEST] Free Outpost Building Costs

Someone already found an INI tweak to make crafting free and there are mods to disable all manner of little junk items lying around and doing nothing but costing PC resources. How does having 55 pens and 60 notebooks and 20 succulents and all manner of crap transferred every time I sell or dismantle a ship and then having to sell all that to get rid of it enhance my playing experience? It does not. It's like cleaning my stinking room IRL. I don't do it for fun.

 

Likewise I do not want to spend 1000 hours gathering crap from every toilet and storeroom in the galaxy just to be able to build outposts.

 

Bethesda needs to take a page from Ubisoft and work on an unlock system. Unlock reflex sights, then you can install them on any gun for a cash fee. Easy, rewarding, fun. Researching a reflex sight, which costs grindy mats, then making ONE which costs grindy mats... dumb. Not fun. Unimmersive. Did you research, design, invent, and fabricate your own toothbrush before brushing this morning? I'm guessing not. Why would I need to "research" anything to build a product. Having a 3d print blueprint system would make more sense. ANYTHING would make more sense than what Bethsoft gave us. Why do you suck at designing fun game mechanics, Bethsoft? Are you actually using games for some sick social experiment instead of actually making fun games? Are you OC weirdos who collect lint balls out of sidewalk cracks? Do you dream about designing your own shoes and underwear?

 

Seriously, Bethsoft, unlocks are where it's at. Unlocks that can be unlocked at any level in any order, not tied to time progression or perks.

 

Want to craft an SMG? Find one and disassemble it at a workbench or buy a blueprint for it to unlock it. Do the same for attachments and upgrades. Then pay credits or some universal material like a programmable matter to build stuff.

 

Same with ship parts and outpost pieces. Buy blueprints or get them as quest rewards and have a good basic working set of stuff at beginning of game. Maybe unlocks can be via scanning items like in Subnautica, that was actually a fun mechanic.

 

Todd Howard, why must I do your job for you? Why aren't you using your head for anything worthwhile? (It would make a good face plate decal for those pirate helmets, I'd love a mod like that)

 

Todd, if I had your resources I bet I could actually come up with a fun "next gen" game. Something Bethsoft can't seem to do.
