Okay so I've got a big problem with my Skyrim and after browsing forums and google for hours and trying MANY different solutions, I've decided to turn to the Nexus community for help.

My problem;

Skyrim simply won't load. I open Skyrim (Have tried with and without SKSE, using steam and TESV.exe) and my computer just goes black. Nothing happens, no Bethesda logo, no drums (never thought I'd miss those dam drums) I do ctrl,alt,delete to get back to desktop and the task manager tells me Skyrim is not responding, every...time...

Here is what I have tried so far, to no avail;

-Restarting computer (duh)

-Checked both WyreBash and BOSS, no constriction.

-Reinstall Skyrim, whole thing, three times.

-Reinstalled all large ENB and script mods

-Removed ALL mods and plugins (about 80-90 in total) then tried reinstalling.

-Verified steam game cache

-Removed Skyrimpref.ini then verified cache.

-Removed BGS_Logo.idk then verified cache.

-Changed sound setting 16 bit, 44100 Hz to 48000 Hz (I know they said they patched it, but I'm desperate).

-Updated my graphics cards.

-Completely deleted the Skyrim file from my steamapps library on the C drive and re-installed it.

This is one of those instance where it was working perfectly fine for ages then suddenly just broke.

Any ideas (I havn't already tried) are welcome!

Don't bother asking me to post my load order because I deleted ALL my mods to get this solved.

Many thanks!

Ive never heard of SkyProccer.

Its also safe to say mods are not the cause of my issues now..

They're for mods like Dual Sheath Redux, ASIS, they can cause massive problems. I had one very similar to this problem and the patch was the issue. One instance even with a full on re-installation somehow my Skyrim was being affected. So it's not always safe to assume that mods aren't out of the question. Especially with something as unstable as Skyrim itself.

1) Have you deleted the plugin.txt file from your local data?

2) Deleted all saves associated with mods?

3) Tried running Skyrim without ENB?

I've removed all mods and plugins so ENB's aren't the problem.

Haven't tried removing all saves though. To be honest I'm not sure where they are..

Should be in your documents folder. I'd just move them to a different directory before deleting them. If it still fails, check permissions of Skyrim itself. If those are fine, check and see what other processes are running, nixing those and seeing if that helps with the game not being responsive. Also, while you're in your documents, move your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini where you moved your save games to. Force the game to re-make the file through the launcher like normal, and then try running that again.

Anything after that, it could be several things. While removing the mods and even the game, there could be residual local data still present causing the game to become unstable. Could be a permissions issue. Make sure the game is being ran from an admin account. While Steam should do this, sometimes it doesn't hurt to double check. Also, be sure to make sure that your hardware is working properly. If it was working a few days ago, try a system restore (though with reinstallation of the game, this might not be a solution now).

Hi

I've had similar problems like these LOADS of times, but not the "Skyrim is not responding" on startup I think. The most common problem is mod related. Check if you have the correct binary for your enb. That caused me quite the ruckus a while back. I didn't remember installing the newest version of the binary and I had sharpshooters enb and that enb is only supported with the oldest binary. That caused my game to crash or just be non responsive.

Another thing can be corrupted saves. I don't think the game should turn non responsive just because of a corrupted save, but just in case, try the solution pheo3309 stated. If you (like me) have loads of mods, and uninstall or install new ones, the saves become unstable pretty quickly (depending on what mods you install of course).

Also, try turning off any programs that you don't need while you play. For instance, I have a program called Evolve. When I have that running, I can't start my game at all. Don't ask me why. Skype seems to be a program that lowers performance, at least for me. Just mentioning it (not that it will crash your game)

And lastly, try turning all your graphic settings to medium and try running it then, and enable/disable Vsync and turn off initializing and the other option above or below (can't remember the name) The medium graphic fix worked for my brother when the game wouldn't start strangely enough. Good luck!

Fixed! It was the saves. Must have had too many old saves or something..... Thanks pheo3309!!!
