Jdog2360
Alright, basically this is a thread to talk about what may or may not appear in the newest Elder Scrolls which I hope will be released some time in 2010. Bethesda must have looked at a plethora of mods posted around the web and taken into account what players want and enjoy. I am greatly looking forward to an improved combat system similar to the "Deadly Reflexes" mod. 1. Better melee combat system.2. More spells that are unique and do more damage than the current ones. (Keep the minor to superior though, it keeps things organised)3. Bow and arrows can pin ragdolls to walls. (That would be very fun)4. Possible Blood and Gore settings.5. Decapitations, etc....6. A broader storyline to the Dark Brotherhood quest line.7. More unique characters and quests. (e.g the dark brotherhood quest were you have to kill the guy with the boars head)8. Unique dialouge and enviroments. Add your own.
spyro1201
how about: 9. Class restriction towards races;armor classes (preferably light, middle and heavy) and armor class restriction towards classes
Jdog2360
Yeah that would be cool, I guess. Although I do enjoy the flexibility in Oblivion. If you want to, you can go from a Warrior to an Archer in a snap. I that seems like it takes away from the game, and doesn't add :D
Dat1Guy
how about: 9. Class restriction towards races;armor classes (preferably light, middle and heavy) and armor class restriction towards classes No, I find that restricting class to race is unrealistic, and not fun. Anyways here's a few things I want: 10: Improved leveling of mobs (most go to an appropriate level of challenge but there is a possibility that you could be faced with something stronger or weaker) 11: More Vanilla Quests 12: I want to be even more immersed in the game than I was for oblivion 13: More creative and interesting dialogue
Pronam
14: More randomization...how small the difference is doesn't matter. Right now... every quest goes the same...You might be lucky a stray animal intervenes, but that's all in Oblivion...

Galiphile
1) Mob Leveling: I do like the idea of mob leveling, however there need to be more strict guidelines on how leveling is incorporated. For instance, if an area is designed for higher level characters, let's say 20+, mobs should not be able to level below 20. Same thing goes for a beginning area; mobs should not be able to go past level 15 (or some other arbitrary designation). 2) Combat System: I like the way power attacks and the like work now, however I believe the damage to health ratio needs to be drastically improved. As it is now, at higher levels, with maxed weapon skill and the best appropriate weapon, it takes waaaay too long to kill things. OOO does a good job altering this in Oblivion. I also like everything that Deadly Reflexes implements: e.g. throat slitting, decapitations, dismemberments, combustion, etc. If these were implemented in the actual game, these animations could be so much smoother. 3) Leveling System: Oblivion's and Morrowind's leveling systems are both terrible; over-leveling is way too prevelant a problem in these games. Experience needs to be changed to be given based on killing, exploration, and quest completions, like in World of Warcraft. Skill ups should be the same way, except instead of literally determining your level, each point should give you an experience boost, the amount of which would scale based on what skill level you were achieving (e.g. hitting 25 Blade would not give as much as hitting 50 Blade). 4) Class System: I like the way classes are determined in Mass Effect; At the beginning, you choose one of six classes, one for each pure (combat, stealth, magic) and one for each hybrid (combat/magic, magic/stealth, stealth/combat). They could also implement the achievement system like in Mass Effect; each achievement allows you to unlock a skill to be used with another class. I'm not sure how some skills would be affected by this change; for instance, alchemy would have to either be scrapped entirely, or broken down into separate trees, allowing each class to do their own respective potion making. Otherwise, I really like the games and their predecessors. Big fan of the series. Now I'm just waiting on Dragon Age :)
Deleted1157812User
No MMORPG.That would absolutely kill me. I would like to see them explore other provinces again. Cyrodiil was a good choice for IV because it got more people interested in the genre again because it was semi-familiar. Now let's see somewhere completely different like Elsweyr or Black Marsh. Or maybe even Akavir, though that might alienate their fans a bit.
Vadilou
A bigger map, with more encounters, towns, camps, adventures and quests. I didn't like the thing of being in an Empire of 2Km radious <.<
endgamecutter
a more varied enviroment. Lets face facts, see one grassy hill you've seen them all, same with the mountains and the rivers. I suppose I might feel this way because of the poor graphics I run this on, but still, maybe some dry grasslands, just to mix things up a little. Weapons selection. The same weapons of different materials is kind of boring, to be honest. Maybe hen I find that daedric waraxe of blizzards, it can have some kind of insignia on the blade, signifying its enchantment. Maybe in stores you can pay a small sum to alter your weapon's appearance, like turn your iron longsword into a katana...or just make the blade overcompensatingly large, I don't know. Also, polearms, crossbows and throwing weapons would be cool to have. And probably rename the blunt skill, axes aren't blunt unless its broken or being used in a torture execution. Variety in spells. I can't help but hate the magic system in vanilla oblivion. You give your fireball a damage value and either ranged blast touch blast or affect self blast. Maybe add some new modes of spell, like waves (hit everything in a line) or bursts (centred on caster), and make telekinesis do something other than fail to renovate your home. More epic in melee combat. I suppose I mean deadly reflex without the gore. I mean, melee combat is a system of hold one mouse button or mash the other, depending on what your opponent is doing/is. Has anyone else wanted to just jump on the ogres back and try to kill it from behind while it tries to throw you off, for example? how epic would that be? Or maybe since you have a dagger in one hand and the other empty, you can use your free hand to grab a guy's arm, taking his weapon or shield out of the fight. Yes these are all/mostly asking far too much, but still, I can dream, right?
