Intangible, opaque, fake ground...

I asked an acquaintance of mine how to fix this problem. He said it was a load error and that he'd nagged Bethesda to make a patch for it.

The problem is this: ON TOP of the ground you and other 'objects' stand and walk on, there's a second layer in some areas...it's like fog, snow, or swamp, but all objects simply ghost right through it without any reaction from the game's mechanics - again...like a fog - and NPCs and creatures seem to simply ignore it as if it isn't there.

It makes swimming VERY interesting...about ten feet down and you have what looks like a riverbed. Of course, while fighting...something [i don't remember what], I neglected my depth...and found I was a lot lower than I SHOULD have been...kept going down and voila...turns out the dumb river was a LOT deeper than I thought!!! In -this- case, it seems to be either universal...or just spread throughout the entirety of the body of water surrounding the Shivering Isles' portal.

Of course...once you're on the other side...you can see straight through it like it's not even there... random, stray geometrical faces anyone?

No unofficial mods or patches. Both Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles official addons. No further modification.

ok since you have SI, you have to add the betheda official patch, would also recoomend the unofficial patch as well. add the UOP before the official one

you might want to add the UOP for KotN also

Thank you. KotN links would be nice, if that's not a problem. It'll be a few more days before I can get them, though, courtesy of dialup internet. *Bookmarks*
