marley4545
I was playing fallout 3 last night and everything was going fine, i decided i wanted a player house mod, closed fallout and downloaded Bunker72 mod. After installing fallout wouldnt launch, i was puzzled and quite upset. I deactivated the mod, launched game, but it still crashes before title screen. Then I uninstalled it, still to no prevail. Then i manually went through the files (only the .esm and .esp) and deleted the mod files for Bunker72, still nothing. Whats the problem here, did it rewrite a texture file or something like that and is now causing it to conflict and not start the game? Any help is appreciated, ive tried all i can :/*is having fallout 3 withdraws*

Purr4me
downloaded Bunker72 modWhich one /version/method? I deactivated the mod, launched gameIn what way? Then I uninstalled it, still to no prevailAgain, how and in what way? Then i manually went through the files (only the .esm and .esp) and deleted the mod files for Bunker72,That indicates you did not uninstall anything at all to still have data residing in the games folders. So. what you can do is this:Make a new folder on the root of the drive your game is installed on. Name it My Game holding data. Move; Not copy the default game files in to that folder, Not textures or mesh files. leave those alone. esm and NO esp's None. Just default files. This includes the root of the game. rename the original folder to anything so the path is killed. rename your new folder to default name . load the game up and start up a new game Just to test it. DO NOT install any mods into the new game folder until you have more control over what is installed. There are choices. Good ones and bad ones.kitty
Purr4me
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/59/2glh.jpgMy choice was to mess with the OS graphics settings, see here? that is the result and only fallout3.esm is loaded too. I changed the water size and the grids got closer together and moved a lot faster too. But, those grids are not supposed to even show up....this was a case of a bad choice if I were to look at it that way, but a good choice as the game data is not touched so I know where and what is effecting it. 512 is default, I have this set at 128.a setting at 2048 make the game just crawl, a slide show speed. some mods extra data may point to things like this and load....no mater what so to answer this: Whats the problem here, did it rewrite a texture file or something like that and is now causing it to conflict and not start the game?um yes, anything is possible. kitty.
