jonesjoshuar
:wallbash: The collision looks fine in 3ds max and then gets exploded in nifskope. I am using rigidbody with proxies. Not only is it exploded but as far as i can tell the metal framework detail is not in nifskope either. This is the view of 3ds maxhttp://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq312/voltron81_photos/collisionproblem2.jpg The white represents the collision. Perfect. Exported with the above settings to nifskope.http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq312/voltron81_photos/collisionproblem.jpg Just in case here is the collision by itself:http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq312/voltron81_photos/collisionproblem3.jpg Is it an export problem or what? Its driving me mad. I keep messing with the settings and nothing seems to make a difference.
jonesjoshuar
Okay i think i got, once again tutorials are WRONG. The tutorial said to use packed strips shape when using the proxies, after messing with them using the regular strips shape option all collision meshes lined up and working flawlessly with nifskope as far as i can tell. Figured i would post it so if someone did a search on this problem (haha) they would have an anwer.
jaysus
the newest niftoolsshould be able to export other collision models than just packed strips, make sure you do a reset Xform on the models before you turn them to collisions (right side of max's screen, the hammer symbol - a bit down that list - "Reset XForm" - then turn them to an editable mesh)

I reseted the xform and everything. For whatever reason it just did not like it. In fact, it was causing 3ds max to crash ALOT. IT even corrupted some saves. (luckily I was working with multiple saves as i experiment trying to get it to work) The only sad thing is packed strips is more efficient collision mesh than just the reg strips. In terms of faces etc...
