menko2
Hi. When i use Skyrim Performance Monitor, the cpu usage never gkes higher from 30%. I have my cores unparcked and use many recomended settings. 3740QM, GTX680M, 8gb ram, ssd 120gb. Is it normal? Im around 35fps exteriors. Thank you
CaffeinatedOrange
... I don't think so, even modded (you didn't say if you were using mods). However, I see 'QM' and 'M', meaning you're running on a laptop. Make sure you don't have your laptop in any power setting other than 'High Performance' and that you have your GPU set to maximum performance in all the settings that allow for that. I'm running the same card and a similar set up, but slightly weaker, though I average a little higher FPS in exteriors WITH mods on Ultra. Here's my Nvidia Control Panel settings for comparison:Ambient Occlusion: OffAnisotropic filtering: Application-controlled Antialiasing - FXAA: OnAntialiasing - Gamma correction: OnAntialiasing - Mod: Application-controlledAntialiasing - Setting: Application controlled (greyed out)Antialiasing - Transparency: OffCUDA - GPUs: AllMaximum pre-rendered frames: 4Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Single display performance modePower management mode: Prefer maximum performanceTexture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization: Off (greyed out)Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias: AllowTexture filtering - Quality: High qualityTexture filtering - Trilinear optimization: Off (greyed out)Threaded optimization: OnTriple buffering: OnVertical Sync: Off My selected PhysX processor is CPU, but I'm not entirely sure yet if it works better on that or my GPU for me. menko2
Thank you for answer. I have a lot of mods and also running Enb. I think my fps are maybe ok for my configuration, but its very strange that the cpu usage is 30% outside and 15% inside. My options in Nvidia panel are similar, except that i use Enb and some things change. But overall is the same. Yep its a laptop and all is in high performance. Do you have the same cpu usage? CaffeinatedOrange
Your FPS probably is okay if you're running an ENB then; those tend to be massive FPS droppers depending on the intensity it is. You might be able to squeeze some more frames by lowering certain settings in it and optimizing your textures by using something like this. My CPU usage is somewhat similar. It ran at about 25% usage most areas and spiked a little in interiors and during battle but generally no higher than 35%. I think everything on your end is fine.
menko2
Thank you. That clear things up. I wonder why the game uses almost no power from cpu but it is what it is. I will pass the optimizer now...wish me luck. Do i have to add any exclusions to the optimizer?
