New Project, few questions please

Hello,

 

I'm looking at making an invasion style mod for fallout 3.. wanted to get ppl's opinions/information on how possible it is .. things I can already think of that I'd need are:

 

-mob respawn .. does this happen in the game? is it possible to add?

interface redesign .. can we get rid of pip boy? or just redo the interface but keep the general idea of options etc .. (I am skilled in coding/scripting as well as modding, so I'm not afraid of a little work, just wanted to know if the tools were there to do it)

new mob AI- very minor stuff that might already be in .. stuff like at this time, do this .. wait this long, then do this .. is that form of scripting available for NPCs?

 

any other thoughts/constructive criticism accepted .. I'm not new to modding, but new to fallout 3 so trying to get my bearings here

its all possible yup.

 

for the pipboy redesign, if you are looking for different functionality you will likely require the FOSE (fallout script extender) it basically allows for anything you can think of or script.

 

the rest of it can be achieved with scripts using vanilla GECK. Before you start modding if you havent already, grab the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (geck) and i think one of its upgrades, can find those on the Fallout3 homepage site in the downloads section.

 

also possibly of interest is Wrye Bash, although im not sure if that has been released for Fallout3 yet, although technically its all the same (it was made for oblivion which was built using the same technology). Wrye bash is an extended toolkit for modding allowing alot of swapping and in depth construction and deconstruction of ESP/ESM/BSA's
