MURDEROUSBUNGHOLE Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I suspect there was some kind of serious mid-development "uh-oh" moment when they realized they couldn't fulfill the original scope of the game, at which point the remainder of development time became a scramble. 7/8 years isn't that long if the project gets a total re-write midway through development, which is apparently what happened. I keep hearing that they wanted to do a few dozen planets with a lot more hand-placed content, but that quantity won out in the end. Thank the gods for mods.
