Pineapplerum
I'm very frustrated. I've never had my game crash so much on me before like this. I had read about it but it was never a problem for me. But now that's changed.I'm sorry, I know there must be a dozen or more threads that asked this question, I looked on a couple of pages and didn't see it and got bored so I decided to make another threadabout it. I have installed 3 "unique landscapes" , a couple of other mods that include towns and the huge file for Heart of the Dead.Do you think my game has too many mods on it? Or maybe one of the mods are corrupt? Maybe I should uncheck them one at a time to see if it still crashes? I guess I could try that. If you know of something else it could be, please, let me know.By the way, I did try to install "open cities" but I got so very confused with all the different files it has that I tried deleting all of them from my "Data" folder.Maybe I missed one and it's messing up my game? It does involve going through doors. What file would I check for that, any mod geniuses know off hand? Thanks much for your time and any light you can shed. I'm going to try unchecking each mod I've downloaded now and see if that helps any.
dezdimona
did you install one mod at a time and then verify it functioned properly before adding another one? list your mods and load order
Pineapplerum
No, I went crazy and added a bunch at once. I think it was the "no psychic guard" mod because it's no longer crashing since I unchecked the mod's file.I downloaded "Boss" and I let it put my mods in order for me.I wouldn't know where to begin if I did it manually, I have so many mods installed.Thank you Dez for your help. Maigrets
No Psychic Guards is very unlikely to be the cause of the problem. All it does is extend the range of how the guards detect you if you steal or do something else illegal. I'd look at the mods involving cities and towns first. Open Cities changes the way doors work obviously, and even though you've tried removing the files the data in your saves could have been corrupted. The cities weren't meant to be open in the vanilla game and Open Cities makes big changes. When you try removing mods one by one go back to a save you know worked properly and see if it loads without CTD's. A good idea also is to start a new game, without any mods and make sure it works, then add mods one at a time.
