Point Lookout HELP

when i get the book the old man wants and go back to the holy roller Marcella on the beach ( the optional finish for this quest) i find her dead killed by smugglers, in her tent. i taker her holotape from the desk (Marcella's Last Words) but as soon as i try to play it i get a CTD :wallbash: im running 1.5 and my roomie has same prob running it in 1.6, im not using any mods but my own that change some weapon stats. no mod mangers or anything like that.

i dont want to have to give the book to the creepy old guy to finish this quest HELP!

on my 360 i gave the book to the old guy and then shot him and got rid of it marcella's way, but to get rid of it marcella's way you have to take it to the obelisk in the buttom of the dunwhich building, maybe you can circumvent the tape and take it there and have it work.

I am also having this CTD problem when listening to the Holotape. If anyone knows of a fix that would be great, but if not I take it that if you destroy the book without giving it to the old geeza, it will finish the quest Marcella's way, with any portential karma gains that may come with it?

If so I can live without hearing the tape :)

ok what i figured out is

 

1 DONT take tape off desk

2 access computer and choose "download audio file"

3 THEN grab holotape from desk

4 listen to tape

 

i also just to be sure borrowed my roomates download of the point lookout files in case mine got corrupted
