Aksalba
Hi, I just wanna mention that I know, should have made a backup of the original files beforehandand separated the downloaded mods into loose and pak mods, but it slipped my mind. Currently, I have a mod that I want to remove which replaces textures. The authors of most replacer mods suggest deleting the files, which seems like a straightforward solution. However, I have other mods that I want to keep. If I let Steam verify the game files to restore the original texture, it might delete other replaced files as well, and it might even delete extra files in the game's directory. To make things easier, I would like to avoid manually sorting through the mods I installed. Is there any other method I can use? This information would be helpful not just for this game but also for future modding endeavors. I've thought about checking the recycle bin and the files' version history, but I haven't had any luck. Another option I considered is making a backup of the current game folder, including all the mods. Then, I can let Steam verify the files and replace the fresh files with the backup game folder, excluding the undesired mod. However, I don't have enough space to create a backup of that size. On an unrelated note, I have a few questions about the mod manager. Why are some mods in the override section while others are in the normal load order, even though the mod manager states that they override stuff? Why do mods that aren't replacers still register as overriding mods? Lastly, why do many mod authors suggest manually dropping pak mods into the mod folder and then using mod organizer to activate them when I can simply import the mod from the zip? I would greatly appreciate any help or advice you can provide.
