Race Idea, with quest chain (Kitsune)

I've been playing the cute Lycan (which I love) race for a bit now. I love how their interaction is, game wise, and the nice RP'ability of them. (yeah, I'm an RP'er.) While playing around with the race, I came up with a concept that well...I don't quite have the ability to create. Sure, I can use modeling programs for other game systems, but Oblivion has never been something I could do.

 

Being a fan of myth and mythology, I found myself wondering why Kitsune weren't represented. Now, yes, I know there's a kitsune mask out there, though as far as I can see it's not for download. What I'm talking about is a whole race.

 

I picture them being much like the Venomancer (see pic) http://images.mmorpg.com/features/2699/images/2699_3_t.jpg from the Perfect World game. In that they have fox ears and a tail, but also have a specialty in poisons, and destruction magic. With added stealth and night vision, and (if possible) the ability to turn into a fox, they would make perfect thieves and even agents.

 

Now here's the thing. In my mind, I don't picture the Kitsune having all their abilities to start with. Meaning that things like the ability to become a fox, would be part of a rather involved quest that would ultimately teach the player the spell at the end, or even mid point in the quest. Armor wise, I picture them using mostly light armors, with robes (kimono), cloth, and leather being their main bonuses. Lastly, I'd like to see a "kitsune mask" item that (maybe part of the quest) would add bonuses to their speechcraft and maybe detect life. Meaning that I see them being a good all around, but not overpowered race. Sure, they could become pretty powerful eventually; if you did the quest, but to start with they're just a bit better than the rest.

 

Traits I have in mind for them:

Resistance to Disease.

Bonus in speechcraft.

Ability to charm (once daily) with a touch. (Kitsune Dream Spell)

Bonus in Illusion

Shapeshift ability (turn into a fox) Bonus in speed in that form.

bonus in destruction magic

weakness to fire

Hello ,in the fisrt place ,sorry for my english, i'm french and it's my second time writting in english.

Now with the mod ,good idea i really hope someone will take it and make something good with that , one question ,will the kitsune be able to gain tails in the leveling ? (if i'm not mistaken in some legends each 100 years the kitsune gain a tail )otherwise there's several mods with shapeshifting ability and there's the fox pet too ,if someone can combine the two you've got the more difficult part done (or what i think is the more difficult ^^).

I am sorry to say, but Kitsune are closer in appearance to Vexend or the Souqi, rather than your example. otherwise you have a great idea, and it goes perfect with a mod I am wanting to make...
