Help! Mod BG3 Steam on Mac

I'm on a Mac and am using BG3 from Steam, and I can't seem to get any mods at all to work. I've tried manual install and Mikhail Korotkov's new mac mod manager, and I always either get "Can't Build a Story" or it completely ignores the mod. I've tried uninstalling and redownloading everything involved, and no luck. Many of the mods I've tried are recent (post-Patch 3) and others have had success with them. I don't know if it's meaningful, but I've noticed that my version did not come with a Gustav or Gustavdev mod. Here's an example of my manually edited modsettings.lsx; can anyone spot what I might be doing wrong, or give any other advice?
