sailorarctic
I have an idea for a mod that would run the entire length of the game from Act 1-3 as a personal quest that would allow you to become a lich. requirements of course would be of course that you would have to be a wizard running the necromacer sub class, but it would go much more in depth than that such as in Act 1 you would have to obtain read and pass all checks from the Necromany of Thay to obtain Forbidden Knowledge as well as insist that he give you an original copy of his pamphlet "Volo's Guide to All Things Magical" for saving his life at the Goblin Camp. Upon reading the guide you would need to pass a forbidden knowledge check to learn the spell "Nulathoe's Ninemen" (one time use)You would also need to obtain venom from the Phase Spider Matriarch and get hold of Wyvern Venom and Belladonna. In Act 2 in Balthazar's rooms in Moonrise towers in his personal notes and in the clasped book and also the book "On soul cages" these will all need to be read/gathered and a "forbidden knowledge" roll success to learn the spell "magic jar" (one time use) and the Lichnee Potion Recipe (one time use) You will also need to gather Arsenic, a heart, and a dead pixie from this area. You will also need to pass a persuasion check in camp to convince Astarion to give you some of his blood. Something much easier done if you are romancing him/have been letting him drink your blood every night in exchange. Act 3 is when you could actually craft your Phylactery and potion once you hit level 10. for the phylactery choose any item in your inventory that is non organic and not enchanted. (a ring, an ingot, a necklace, amulet, etc) In camp You must then cast "magic jar" on this object. it will glow green when enchanted. Then cast Nulathoe's Ninemen on yourself. In the combine menu combine The heart, belladonna, phase spider venom, Astarion's blood, wyvern toxin, arsenic and the dead pixie. these will combine into a Lichnee Potion. Drink the potion. Potion will instantly kill them triggering a roll. they must roll 15 or higher with no bonuses. if they succeed, they obtain lichdom. instead of dying in combat they will instead reform at their phylactery ( most likely left in their travelers chest at camp) after 3 turns. they also gain 1d4 Necrotic damage on all their spells in addition to the normal damage and are immune to charm, paralyze, frightened, poisoned, and exhaustion. If possible I would like to incorporate an option to prevent a break up with Ascended Astarion here as well if he is being romanced. If ascended and he offers the final bite, turn him down and take any option that leads to Astarion saying he misjudged you and asking if this is to be it. Answer "I hope we can work things out and stay together" then choose "This isn't what I want. and reveal your plans to obtain lichdom and ask for his help." relationship continues as though you accepted becoming a spawn. He would call you his consort, etc. Once lichdom is obtained tell Astarion you want to give him something. Give him your Phylactery and tell him you are accepting his offer of Eternity with him. That as long as he holds your soul you will stay by his side. Relationship with Ascended Astarion still continues as though you accepted becoming his spawn and the dialogue of him deciding your fate still makes sense if you attempt to break up with him post tadpoles because he has control of your soul. No bugs or plot holes.
