Emulatour
Hello, I'm trying to play Skyrim AE (GOG) without trees. I tried the mods 'No Vanilla Trees' and 'No Trees - Remove All Trees of Skyrim - SSE' and I loved the results. It game me a feeling of a northern enviroment that I was looking for. Plus, it helped with the frames for my old computer. The problem is, no matter what I try, there's always those trees on the horizon that disappear when I get close. LODs or billboards, I'm not sure. I know their concept, but am not very experienced at this modding thing. Generally just following Vortex rules. I followed all the mods instructions as far as I understand, and used DynDOLOD 3. But they are always still there. I know I must doing something wrong now apart from those mods, because I managed to have no tree whatsoever on a older installation. I inserted 0.000 value on fTreeLoadDistance in SkyrimPrefs.ini as one of the mods said, but they're still there. I know I'm missing something. Can someone help, please? Rodr1sen
mira este video, tiene muchos datos, entre ellos lo de los arboles Sorry, I forgot that it is in Spanish, what you have to see or better would be to search for information is to modify the SkyrimPrefs.ini fileThis is what drives vanilla trees:[TerrainManager]fTreeLoadDistance=12500.0000fBlockMaximumDistance=8000.0000fBlockLevel1Distance=8768.0000fBlockLevel0Distance=4480.0000fSplitDistanceMult=0.2 <--------------This is a multiplier, it seems to me that setting it to 0.0 removes it the original value is 0.4and these two but I have not ventured into searching for information, I only put the first command from zero to one, this is a tree renderer[Trees]bRenderSkinnedTrees=0 <--------------This is oneuiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=20 Don't take the numbers into account here because I just copied them from my ini file, and I don't remember what the originals were. If you use Google and in the search engine you put:fTreeLoadDistance= skyrimAmong the results you go to this page and there you see the information, there is everything you need to know to manually configure the Skyrim ini files. https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Guide:SkyrimPrefs_INI/TerrainManagerYou do the same for each command that you need info if it is from another configuration I use MO2, and that is where you should modify it. If you want you can modify the original in the skyrim folder and the same in the my documents folder. always make a copy of the original file before making any changes and save it elsewhere ----------you know what, I don't know if this DynDOLOD has power over the ini files. You're going to have to wait for someone who knows more to guide you better, sorry, good luck. You can also see this, but I have never used it, I just remembered that I had seen it, look at the description because it seems that it removes other things too.No trees - Remove all trees of Skyrimhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/97454 I use MO2, play in Skyrim LE Edited November 11, 2023 by rodr1ss
Emulatour
Wow! Thanks for the detailed reply. That's a lot of helpful info and I'm sure it took some time from you. I will study and experiment. Hope it'll work. I'm portuguese, so I can manage the spanish. The video is about Oldrim while I'm using GOG AE, but I'm sure there is something adaptable. The wiki guide link is great. I'm definitely going to study it. Yes, I backup all INI files every time I mess with them (actually, is just that fTreeLoadDistance line and another for grass density). Thanks for your command line examples. I'll compare them with mine on the files. the clarifications are very helpful. There're going to be late hours tonight. Good thing is weekend. Whether it'll work or not, thanks once again. I'll post the results later. Edited November 11, 2023 by Emulatour
