mickeymegabyte
my first post, so hello all! i have windows 7 build 7232 x64, and installed fallout 3 through steam - and boy the game runs smooth and beautiful at 1920x1080 with enhanced texture pack - well worth buying my new ati hd4890! the only issue i am having is a crash on exit - when i press quit, i see a faded-out version of the gameworld, mouse cursor disappears then crash - i have to crank up task manager, wiggle my mouse to get the pointer back, and shut down fallout 3 through task manager. it's not a show stopper (more of a show stop-stopper ), but it's a little annoying... is this a windows 7, x64 issue, steam issue or purely local? anybody know? thanking you all in advance

mickeymegabyte
hi overload, thanks for your reply. i downloaded fallout 3 through steam, so it should be up to date - i see i have version 1.5.0.22 - i believe there is a patch 1.6 available, but i thought that was for the expansion packs only? my ati graphics drivers are also up-to-date, version 9.6 - let me repeat i do not have a problem with the graphics - they are beautiful (in a wretched post-apocalyptic sort of way)! my problem is only when i quit - i press quit, the game warns me about unsaved progress (or whatever) and i press exit game - now my problem begins! all i see on screen is a still frame of whatever was going on in the fallout world before i pressed quit - i get no error message, no mouse cursor. i have to use ctrl-alt-delete to get to my desktop. no big problem, but i would like to fix it if anyone knows how...
