caunyd
I was able to successfully create a custom head and face texture by just doing the quick and dirty of replacing the game's nif and dds with my own. And by doing this, I'm able to get my custom head into the game, and also looksmenu. However, in the looksmenu, I'm unable to change the face in any way (except eyes and hair style). No bigger nose, scars, or anything else. During the process of replacing the models, I was able to parent my custom mesh to the game armature. and the method I used to replace the meshes, was to remap the game's mesh to my own, so that hopefully my mesh would have the same properties as the original. I thought this was enough to have a fully functioning face/head, but like I said, I can't adjust it in looksmenu. Also there's a strange offset in the texture. Although Blender and Nifskope can display the texture properly, in the game, I have to raise and enlarge the texture for it to work. There's so little documentation about custom head mesh and face textures that is specific to Fallout 4. So I'm posting to get advice from the experts. What else do I need to do to get my head fully functional? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
