MystikTheMadHatter
So... I worked 5 Hours on an area of the Mod, the SCP Foundation Site. But apparently I did it wrong and all this work is for nothing... Texturing is literally impossible because I can't texture within blender only with paint.net/Photoshop. I would like to have some help in form of a modeler. Cause I am utter garbage in it... Alas I am not qualified to get such help according to the people I asked. I am currently trying to not cry and get a panic attack because the Foundation Site is just 1/10 of the entire mod. Any hints for how I should model the stuff? Would splitting the entire thing and put them together inside the CK be a good idea? (like Road, entrance, floor blocks, walls)
RoNin1971
Not qualified to get help??? Whut??? Anyway, sounds to me you have 1 big model with everything? That doesn't work. You need to separate the lot by texture. (Only 1 material can be applied to a BSTriShape.) So, yes you would need to split it up. A lot. A NIF for each "part" (road, floor, wall etc.) and each NIF should contain 1 BSTriShape for each material used for that part.) Technically it could all be done with 1 NIF file, but it realy is much better to split it up, for to many reasons to mention.

People say I need to publish a few mods to be allowed to search for collabs. I see. So then you say "Puzzle it together"? As an exaple: This would be the plan (for example) HOW would you split it up? RoNin1971
By turning it all into tileable objects. 1 flloor piece 256x256 or 512x512 (roughly 2 or 6 squares for the bridge) 1 wall pieces 1 tower 1 straight piece of railing (as big as the floor piece) 1 corner in piece etc. Just take a good look at the way vaults are build within CK, or the Castle, or some of the other places/buildings. I appreciate your help and tips! That sucks tbf... I was working on larger. Modules. Like: a building (in total) the floor pieces (bridge in total, ground) so I don't need to fiddle it together. Small pieces by pieces. (especially cause the interior would take ages that way and I am alone... And the Mod size is approx as big as Sim Settlements 2)
RoNin1971
You could use bigger chunks, like a one piece bridge (still needs separate objects for each material) Just have a look at all the stuff that is there already, when it comes to towers, bridges, walls etc. But to make the entire thing just one object is a bit to much. Keep in mind you do need to navmesh the whole thing etc. Decorating the place will be a pita. etc. It saves data too, if you have only 1 tower model, which you use again and again.
