It's not a "Hack".  It's right there in App settings as an option  .... modify, uninstall.
Looks like a "Feature" to me.

I mentioned it as a simple option,  but also said to make sure Vortex and extension were fully updated, which a lot of users fail to check.

any program that runs on Windows that requires any user to intentionally disable something is utilizing bad practice and bad processes.

Any program that runs on Windows should run on *every* Windows install out there, out of the box without putting pre-requisites on any user to intentionally disable anything that is enabled by default. These are programming fundamentals that go back to the dawn of the first application programs.

While one drive can be disabled, you seem to (deliberately) miss the point. Putting the onus on a user to disable one or several pieces of the OS to have another program run is incredibly bad practice and an "ugly hack". This is relevant to any OS on any platform.
Hence - offering this as a "solution" is not the best call.

However, telling anyone with issues pertaining to one-drive to keep both vortex and the extension up to date IS the best call because soon after the extension was released and problems were reported, the nexusmods team took the extension and pushed out an urgent hotfix to it within hours, for which they should be commended.

In the time since, they have said in many threads, not just this one, keep your vortex and your extension up to date and you *should* be okay. That's the message that should be pushed out consistently. Anything else just invites further confusion from less than technically adept users who, as i said above, simply want to play their game.

It's being said that Vortex does not require OneDrive to work.

If that's the case why do I constantly get error messages preventing me from installing mods and running the game saying "C:\Users\PC\OneDrive\Documents\MyGames\Fallout4\Fallout4Custom.ini.base" is a removable, possibly network drive that has been disconnected."?

I uninstalled OneDrive, had to add an exception in security settings to allow Vortex permission, and still nothing works.  It says it's a problem with my "environment" and yet NMM works just fine, like Vortex did before the "all mighty" took over and then it went to crap.
