[AC Revelations] i can't even mod the game.

i have the Anvil Toolkit installed. i downloaded a mod that replaces a sword to Basim's sword from Mirage and another that changes the look of the Master Assassin armor. i did the exact instructions put out for the mods (unpacking forge file, replacing data file/s, repacking said forge file), and guess what happens when i try to boot up the game after? it closes almost immediately. trial and error for a few days, i ended up giving up and putting the original (unmodded) forge file every single time and now i'm stuck with this armor that forces to revert to Ezio's default robes which doesn't blend well with the armor. is there any help you guys can dish out?
