ODOM3 Posted July 5, 2009 Share Posted July 5, 2009 hi i downloaded some texture mods but they seem not to work like reguler mods. i put them in the data file in oblivion but it doesnt become available to activate? do u have to put them in a diff spot than reguler mods? XJDHDR Posted July 5, 2009 Share Posted July 5, 2009 It's sounds to me like you are copying the textures into the data folder itself and not into the textures directory. You can install these mods by opening the archive with your decompression program then look for a folder called "Textures" in that archive. If you don't see that folder, open folders until you find "textures". Now extract that folder into your "Data files" directory and you have installed the mod. When installing a texture replacer, there is no ESP file to activate. The game finds the new textures in the right place and replaces the default textures automatically. Instead of what I said above, I recommend that you rather use Oblivion Mod Manager to make an OMOD out of that mod and install using the OMOD.
