Miserable Customer Service

I requested support for Valheim HD MOD, which is a product i PURCHASED here, that now is not working anymore after the latest updates from Steam, and i received a message back, saying to me that i should ask to the Forum, because they don't follow upcoming issues with their own products they are selling.

Basically, they open a Forum so that the paying clients to the work for them....

Well, i left a message in the Forum....obviously, if i will not solve my problem, i will delete my membership, because i don't want to throw away my money in a Company which products are not working and nobody wants to fix them...

This Nexus "company" doesn't seems at all professional enough to deserve being paid.

You PURCHASED Valheim HD? It is a free download. Also, do you understand how Nexus and similar modding sites work? They don't make the mods, they don't provide service for them. They are just a hosting site for a community of players and modders. It's a great service, without Nexus and other mod sites/hosts you'd have a harder time finding mods for games you play.

But do you understand that the mods are made by people who are not professionals, who are not paid and who are only making the mods because they like the games and want to make their own variations of the game to make it better or more fun? And then they post them out to share them with us for feedback and for our enjoyment, not in expectation of receiving money for it. They are doing it for the love of the game and out of their own generosity, they are not being paid to do it. They liekly have lives, a real job somehwere else, and they may have families and a life that leaves them little time for their own hobbies, one of which is modding and playing your game. So you shouldn't expect a modder to jump up and respond to your requests at a moment's notice. They are under no obligation to provide any service at all, what they do should be appreciated.

Modders come and go, so you may see outdated or unsupported mods on the site. But that is not Nexus's fault, nor their responsibility to maintain or remove. A mod that no longer works for the current version of your favorite game may not be useful for you, but it might be very useful for someone who (for whatever reason) is continuing to play an older version of the game for which the old mod is still compatible.

Likewise Nexus and the other mod site hosts provide us with a place to put up mods or others to find mods and they are not responsible for providing maintenance or service for the mods, that is on the mod creator. They are only a host, and they do not own the mods themselves so they wouldn't have a legal right to modify them or support them. As a hosting service they make their money by putting up ads or buy providing a paid premium service that gives you faster downloads. In Nexus's case, they are nice enough to provide a free basic service so you don't even have to pay a subscription, their premium download is just faster and more convenient.

So, you are not entitled to any service from Nexus. If the modder is still supporting the mod he/she has likely read your request and probably has put in in their list of things to do, when they have the time and inclination to work on the mod. But if I was the modder and if your message was as brusque and as entitled sounding as this post is, then your request would not be very high up on my priority list. Show some respect, show some gratitude for the person who made the mod and they may actually be more interested to listen to you.
