Gerhed
I'm having the same issue and don't understand the fix. Where is this steam install directory? And where do I move those files to? Sorry I'm dumb.

I had the same thing happen last night and Steam had moved all my save files from the Documents folder to that folder in the Steam install directory. Moving them back fixed everything. THIS REALLY SAVED MY DAY, tysm

lharris10101111
Fallout 4 worked perfectly fine last night. Fallout 4 dead today. I see vortex seems to have updated. All my plug-ins disabled, and now game does not see any of my saves. What the hell is going on with votex updates.???? So how in the world do I get my fallout 4 game to see the saves. And why did vortex disable 253 plugins, and every single light plugin. This sucks ass, now have to figure out how to get game running. Vortex software programmers please be a little less obnoxious in the future.
missmonti
Im having this issue too. My computer crashed and suddenly fallout doesn't give me the option to load a save and just start a new one. But I have a gazillion files in documents>my games >fallout 4> saves. I can see .f4se and .tmp files. I dont understand how to navigate through the appdata or how to find an fos file. From what I've tried I go through appdata into steam and I cant find any .fos files but I dont think im doing it right.
TheDestroya
I was confused too, all you have to do is go to your C drive --> Program files (x86) --> Steam and search .fos and they will all pop up and you can then move them over to your saves under documents. This is what worked for me
Guest deleted92835738
Here this is how I did it, hope it works. You need to find the .FOS FILES. Go to your STEAM FOLDER that means the folder where you installed steam. Then search for the folder named USERDATA then open it. You might see a single folder open it. Then open the folder named 377160. Now open the folder named ac. At this point you need to find a folder named WinMyDocuments open it. In that folder you will find the same folder as if it was your Documents folder. So, at this point open My Games Fallout4 Saves and there they are the missing files for your saves just copy and paste theme to the original location.
