SkyUI JSON syntax error, failed to load config

After hours of trying to get SkyUI to work and give me the mcm I finally got it, however now I noticed that the SkyUI menu in the mcm doesn't load(other mods do appear to work in MCM). Another thing I found is that there are no icons for the different items and skills tabs. At first I thought I could only make use of the "all items/skills" tab but the others are accesible too.

I've got the recent update and the fixes(persistence, ghost item) and the changes to the .toml file and SKSE.

Bump.

I am troubleshooting a similar issue. After a few updates and tweaks here and there most of mods seem to be working with 1.6.1130. However, I am having issues with SkyUI. I too am missing text for menus and also have the JSON Syntax error. I followed the SkyUI SKSE64 Installation Guide but was unable to resolve my issue. I'm missing something, somewhere.

It appears to be the MCM Helper mod. After deactivating it the problems went away. It is required for other mods though.

If u download mcm helpers zip file and extract it then u can go to the data folder and copy paste contents into the same folder in the vortex mods/mcm data folder. These files were missing and afterwards my skyui is fine : ) Thanks to some other guy in the forums

  • Thanks 2
