Loading time problems in BG3 with Vortex?

Hello,

 

I tried running some UI-mods (mainly pavelk's "Better XYZ" and the Alt tooltip-toggle from ImprovedUI which is now called Improved World Tooltips) via Vortex but ran into an issue with my loading times ranging from 4-8 minutes each time.

Script Extender and Modfixer were also installed at various stages.

 

It was either

Script Extender + mods = long load times

Modfixer + mods = long load times (+annoying "no working story"-popup each time)

Script Extender + Modfixer + mods = long load times

Even only Script Extender + Modfixer without any mods enabled was causing long loads.

No mods enabled = short load times ofc

 

Also tried installing Script Extender via Vortex (+Console option) instead of the manual way but that didn't help either.

The console of SE shows "ScriptExtender::MergeWrapper() - Started merge each time I load a savegame with the CPU going full tilt. I thought this might be a one time-affair to rearrange the savefile when changing mod conditions but it happens every time.

 

So a bit annoyed of having to take a break every load I nuked everything in Vortex, deleted the mods folder and tried fresh with BG3MM.

Same mods and Script Extender via BG3MM installed and everything works fine without any long load times (15s vs. 4-8m is quite the difference ).

 

Appreciate any tips what could cause this issue and how to make it work in Vortex as the update search is a rather convenient feature.
