soviergn
I've gone through and read the using mods for dummies thing for DAO. My issue is with several mods, such as JB3 textures and the white teeth mods, but others are giving me just as much hassle. It says to use the pathing for the user then through there, instead of the normal path, and I've done that. I extracted the JB3 file into my override file, load the game, and nothing has changed. The white teeth mod did nothing as well. The only mod that i've successfully gotten to work is the break open locked objects mod. I am at a complete loss as to what I'm doing wrong at this point. Also, I'm running the game through steam, don't know if that would effect it. Edited January 21, 2014 by soviergn
soviergn
I've been hunting through the forums, looking for advice, but nothing I've found has fixed my issue.
Thandal
(Note: These are two of the most complicated mods to install, and WhiteTeeth is known to conflict with many other appearance mods.) You must follow the instructions provided by each author very carefully. But If you don't understand Windows path/directory/folder naming conventions well enough to adjust those instructions to match your own environment, then you will not be able to get these working. Here's some more help with the folders/paths: Reveal hidden contents A standard installation of “DAO – Ultimate Edition” via EA/Origin to a Win7 or Win8 (64-bit) machine looks like this. NOTES: 1. For Steam installs, change “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games” to:“C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games” 2. The Ultimate Edition puts all the DLC into the “\Addins” folder under “\Program Files”, but some “.dazip” mods want to be in the one under the Player’s “\Documents”. Both are correct and will work fine. 3. The folder structure is very similar between the PLAYER and the GAME, but these not interchangeable. Most things a player might add should be placed in the PLAYER’S folders, but some things MUST be in the GAME’S. Follow directions! The PLAYER’S folder structure (for saves, config, and mods) is: Folder PATH listing for volume YourDiskVolume serial number is 1A2B-3C4DC:\Users\<username>\Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age├───AddIns├───Characters├───News├───Offers├───packages│ └───core│ ├───data│ └───override├───Screenshots└───Settings The GAME’S folder structure is: Folder PATH listing for volume YourDiskVolume serial number is 1A2B-3C4DC:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition├───Addins├───bin_ship├───docs├───modules├───Offers├───packages│ ├───core│ │ ├───data│ │ ├───data_tools│ │ ├───env│ │ ├───override│ │ ├───patch│ │ ├───patch_tools│ └───core_ep1 (This is DAA, aka “Expansion Pack 1”)├───Support├───tools (Only if you have installed the DAO ‘Toolset’)└───__Installer Hope you get things sorted!
