DarkChaoticMind
Ever notice you're the only customer for all the stores, blacksmiths, etc.? Outside of the market in Riften and Whiterun, no one shops. Ever. They go in to talk, wander around, appearing to do stuff, but you're the only customer. It's creepy. How do they make any money? Also, they don't tend to do anything but stand at the counter or go to bed. A couple seem to be making potions or stepping out, but mostly they just stand there. All day long. Then they go to the tavern, followed by bed. They rarely wander around town, they don't go shopping themselves...
Rodr1sen
I dream of a mod that modifies those behaviors, seeing npc that talk to the sellers and then seeing them with some different clothes, finding that if you go to the stores early you will find more things than if you go in the afternoon where they have been all day day selling. see those who sell meat actually hunting (well not counting the npc who sells meat in Markhart). But it is an impossible dream for sure, it would have to be an epic job, hours and hours and hours to modify the entire base of the game.
DarkChaoticMind
Oh, that sucks. Maybe, if we cross our fingers, someone will be kind enough to bless us with such a thing.
Demorphic
Most of their sales are mail order, or online, so while there are not many physical customers they still run profitable businesses.
