Problem: Survival instinct is terrible and lacks flavor.
Request: Improve the ability
Reason: The only mods that change illithid abilities are huge overhauls. Survival instinct is particularly bad both mechanically and flavorwise and I believe it deserves to be addressed separately.

Suggestions:

  •  Remove cost only. (like Dread Ambusher
    • Keeps the ability most mechanically similar to vanilla without the unrealistic expectation of sacrificing a whole action or bonus action to use it.
  • Change duration: 25px-Duration_Icons.png Until Long rest
    • Rather than an in-the-moment active response, players use instinct to decide who is most vulnerable during the strategy phase.
  • Add a passive version that recharges on 25px-Recharge_Icons.png Long rest
    • Way more thematically flavorful interpretation of the ability. The tadpole will attempt to keep its host alive in a pinch.
    • Could be an additional file upload that can be combined with one of the previous changes.
