Front Mission 1st Remake (Custom Portrait)

 Hi modders. I was wondering if someone could make a mod, or tell me how to mod, to make a custom portrait for the main character for Front Mission 1st Remake. I'm a pretty skilled artist so naturally, I would like to draw and paint my own custom character for this game. Back in the day, there was a game called Baulders Gate. As long as you had the skill, and had the image in the right format and size you could easily modify the portraits to suit your tastes. It was just a matter of dropping the files in the right folder and naming them accordingly. Not so for this game. Can anyone help me out?
