Question regarding the game data and stored information

Hello,

I was wondering how the game data stores the information of the armour items. Would it be possible to switch the look and model of some armour with another?

For example: Is it possible to swap the "studded leather" armour looks with lets say the "penumbral armour" or even something that is not a light armour. Just the looks. Can I acces the data for them in the gae data folder and just change them? If so, how?
