Indio21
With you making the comment about MO2, I assume you are using vortex, correct? Have you sorted your LO with vortex? Are you using Groups to section off your plugins? Because it looks like it. I know vortex uses LOOT to sort, and offers the same functions, but one has to open the slider of every mod to see it's notes. Personally, and for that reason, I use LOOT. Just to see what needs to be cleaned, is missing patches, and if it doesn't like the sort vortex did (just a feel good for me as vortex was not as dependable the first time I tried it years ago. Now it seems to be fine). Answer those ????s and I'll follow up again. Edited February 14 by Indio21
7531Leonidas
Do you have a crash logger? Crash Logger SSE AE VR ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/59818 ) has an advantage if you use Crash Log Analyzer ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/89860 ) with it, as the analyzer simplifies the crash log somewhat, and gives you some steps that could help fix the problems. I have the most recent version of loot and I do use it to sort my plugins , yes I use vortex. https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins this helped alot with eliminating plugins and using alternatives. this helped me get the ball rolling. I Am now running texgen and dyndolod after that I'm going to see if I still CTD at the main menu.

I abandoned it after AE came out because it wasn't working.

I Am now running texgen and dyndolod after that I'm going to see if I still CTD at the main menu. Ok, well I am not interested in your money to get that out there. I don't think most here would be. Even if you paid someone later if whatever happens you most likely would not be able to fix it and be in the same situation. If you want to play with mods, you have to learn how to mod! I'll see if I can help you get the situation under control. This is assuming if you are desiring to play with mods bad enough that your willing to pay, you are willing to learn. First, stop adding things to the mix like the programs you mentioned adding above. At the least it is just more you have to do before you test. So if you added them, just disable them on your mod page. You can follow up with them when your game loads and you can actually test them. Now I will have some questions and will list them for ease of answering. 1. To ask again, you do not have any plugin groups assigned in vortex? 2. What are your steps to sorting your LO. Meaning are you specifically using vortex by clicking the Sort Now button on the plugins page OR are you sorting in LOOT and using what it generates? 3. How are building your LO. Meaning, are you following some guide, randomly picking mods then following up on what they tell you, etc. OR do you have previous experience modding. 4. How many rules has vortex asked you to clarify for mods (click Manage Rules on vortex mod screen). 5. Have you made any rules for the plugins? Now so your not just waiting after answering those questions, do these things. If you have ANY groups assigned to plugins, in vortex, remove them all AND any rules you made for plugins (plugins screen to right of Sort Now is Manage Rules; remove any displayed). If the group for a mod has bright white writing, and not faded, it is assigned. Double click the plugin, scroll to the group section for the mod in the pop out window, and click the X next to the name displayed. It still may show the same name of whatever, but faded, until it is sorted again, just ignore it and move on to the next. As long as whatever group name is faded it is using the default the mod author assigned to it. Once that is done for all showing bright white click the Sort Now button on Vortex. Delete all your saved games, if possible, as I assume this is a new build so no big deal. Try your game, and I hope you know to use the skse64 launcher NOT the steam one (ever again mainly now that your using mods), but don't be surprised if you still CTD. Next, go to every single mod page you downloaded mods from. Read EVERYTHING on that page. Especially look over any installation or LO instructions. Adjust anything you find accordingly in your LO. Meaning if the page has a three part download to get the mod and it specifically states mod 1, 2, and then three has to be in that LO and the Sort Now did not do so, THEN you create a plugin rule to make them do so. Keep in mind after sorting again, with vortex, it may go mod 1, mod 2, mod X, mod XX, mod 3. That does not matter. Only that they are loaded in that relation to each other. Then after your read that initial mod page, go to the Posts tab. See if the mod author left any particular notes pinned at the start, usually bordered by color as I have seen but don't count on it. Take a minute and scan over the first page or two. Note the dates of posts if they are recent, if any issues and, hopefully, fixes are posted, and then, if provided, look at the bugs tab. Even if there is no solution posted in those areas, if you see the symptoms in game you have a better idea what is causing it. You should do this for every single mod you install! Now on the mod pages Description tab you will see Requirements. In the drop down, if you didn't know, all the mods in the sections marked "Xxxxxx Requirements" are mods needs to run/work, unless the mod author made a note after it saying something like "Optional" or "If using mod X". If you see something like "Optional, but recommended" just get it unless it creates problems like another mod you want more will NOT work with it. After you verified you have all the mods required by the mod, below that you will see the next section in the Requirements drop down saying "Mods requiring this file". THAT is the first road map, and most likely the only one, showing the patches you might need for that mod to work with others in your LO. Review them all and make SURE none relate to ANY mods in your LO. Do NOT skip this step as sometimes it is a loooong and daunting list to go through with all the different language mods repeating. Do not trust if a mod has a fomod installer ALL the patches you need are in it. NO ONE could ever predict ALL the ways someone could put a LO together. One way not looked at someone did, then realized they needed a patch for the mods to work together. Then they was nice enough to put it on nexus and that one lonely link there in requirements is your fastest way to find it without going through pages of patch mods to see if one is already made! It takes time to review what they give you, but much faster than troubleshooting Any patches you find, whether you have them installed currently or not, make sure they load after the plugins they patch. If you got a patch for plugin 15 and plugin 53, that patch needs to load after, where ever vortex sort now puts it, AFTER mod 53. IF it is not sorting to somewhere below the last mod it is patched to, THEN once again you create a rule to make it do so. Once you have verified you have all the patches you can find from those areas and they are below the mods they patch, then open LOOT. Ignore doing the sorting if you were. If vortex sorted correctly, which it will if you didn't create any rules on either screen for mods or plugins, then LOOT will not give you a pop up basically saying it doesn't like the sort or LO. Once in LOOT, scroll down your list of plugins. Look for LOOT notes that a patch is missing, a plugin needs to be cleaned, etc. Do NOT clean ANY game master files OR CC plugins that come with AE! Just don't do it!!!!!! If it says you need X patch, go get all those first. Install them, sort them, and make sure they beneath the last plugin they patch. After rerun LOOT and see if they are gone. Any ones LOOT says needs cleaning, you need to MAKE SURE the mod author did not leave SPECIFIC notes on the mod page not to do so. If they have those notes, do as they say and do not clean them. LOOT just thinks its an error but they are needed for the mod to work. All others, not the game master files or CC plugins from AE, clean them all. After cleaning each mod you will have to deploy them in vortex. A pop up window will open asking if about using the new file, tell it yes/confirm. Then go to plugins page and click Sort Now. Delete any game saves from previous attempts. Try your game and report back. Get me the answers to my questions before you begin all this so I can respond with further steps, if needed. I know, sounds like a lot of work huh, welcome to modding......and know its just begun. The larger your LO gets, the more knowledge you need. Just food for thought to help keep things possibly under control, as mods are just sooooo tempting to keep adding more and more and MORE, lol. 7531Leonidas
@OdysseusTheWanderer Yes that Crash Logger - follow the link above - is dependent upon both the proper SKSE64 and Address Library versions. It is NOT the original Crash Logger. Just use the versions of SKSE and Address Library that match your Skyrim version. BTW - Vortex will allow you to see which of your mods have LOOT messages, or some sort of warnings. Just go to the 'Plugins' area, and click on the 'Flags' dialog window. There, you have many choices available for more information. I don't usually have much use for the 'Tags' selection, but the five just above it (Dirty, Don't Clean, Warnings, Incompatible, LOOT Messages) are easy to access. You must enable the Flags column in the Toggle Columns gear/cogwheel. You will have to double-click on the message balloons you see to read the message for each plugin. Any sorting needed for patches are often automatic, but you may have to use the conflicts resolution (lightning bolt) procedure in Vortex. Just click 'Show' under the notifications bell item, OR double-click the RED lightning bolt to the right of your patch, and you will be able to choose which one(s) win the conflict. Sometimes a patch may also conflict with some other mod, but that does not happen very often, experience - AND the willingness to go to the mod site's 'Posts' or discussion areas will help you research which one should win. I am also not interested in pay.

Best 1. To ask again, you do not have any plugin groups assigned in vortex? vortex uses nexus categories and groups so its automatically sorted into them. Im not new to modding im new to having my entire modlist not working because of a game update 2. What are your steps to sorting your LO. Meaning are you specifically using vortex by clicking the Sort Now button on the plugins page OR are you sorting in LOOT and using what it generates? I am using loot not vortex to sort my load order 3. How are building your LO. Meaning, are you following some guide, randomly picking mods then following up on what they tell you, etc. OR do you have previous experience modding. I have previous experiencing modding my games 4. How many rules has vortex asked you to clarify for mods (click Manage Rules on vortex mod screen). To many to count 5. Have you made any rules for the plugins? vortex gives you suggestion example load before or after i use the suggestions or i can tell when its a patch to lload after the initial plugin
Indio21
Ok then, thanks. It clarifies the situation for me on who I'm talking to and how I can talk to you. First thing I noticed with a very quick glance before, is you are missing a lot of CC content patches. Second I see you are trying to run Lux and ELFX together. I didn't look for a patch, but not sure why you'd want to. I just got back into modding, but after watching some videos comparing them, to me, it was like night and day from the results. I had ELFX loaded up and patched and dropped it all to reconfigure Lux to work. That is why I wanted you to verify you have all your patches. Seems like I remember more missing too from that first day I looked over your LO. I did, I went back and glanced again. I see 254 FE 42 Vanilla Script MicroOptimizations.esl but I do not see Vanilla Scripts Enhanced, for another example. Another one I just discovered, and I am sure it is on the skse list link you posted above, is Scaleform Translation Plus Plus https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22603 SKSE threw a flag on me saying basically it is not compatible. IDK if you have it, but know that. I disabled it and all was fine again, so I uninstalled it. When you get done following up on patches and LO notes from mod pages, etc. it might be best to rerun any mods with FOMODS to make sure you did not miss patches there. Easy to do by adding mods later after a LO build to miss them. I'd think anyways.
OdysseusTheWanderer
8 hours ago, 7531Leonidas said: @OdysseusTheWanderer Yes that Crash Logger - follow the link above - is dependent upon both the proper SKSE64 and Address Library versions. I am also not interested in pay. crash-2024-02-14-23-57-28-REPORT.txt
