Honestly that moderator isn't wrong and not even wrong for being cold. Dude was tripping because they put too much pressure on their shoulder trying to blame the community when it was them who got it in their own head they had some form of duty. Honestly, I think it's an obvious thing that going onto a mod authors mod and being an asshole about the mod being updated is stupid and those people can f themselves and technically, yes, they do have a right to hide their mods. The problem boils down to them hiding the mod then trying to push this ridiculous narrative of "caring for the community" while also hurting us. It's the two-faced actions that's causing so many people to get upset. Yep, and they can't even see it because they are too busy inflating their importance to the community.

Don't know whether this is the one being spoken of, personally I can't even stand Discord, I typically like to browse existing topics, became a Mod Organizer expert & unofficial lead support girl in 2013, simply by reading Nexus forum posts while planning & building my £5,000 modding rig. Discord only caters for instant chats & it's almost impossible to get to the start of any topic & just read the posts, plus took me ages to find out "Reactions" = Emojies (A feature I'd disabled years ago) & I'm still amazed that an "Optional" feature is required to even join many of the sites these days. The only one I know of has been around since Early Access Down By The River

A user was uploading bin folders and exe files to the server and the moderator was pinged several times about it. The moderator saw nothing wrong with this even though its a massive security risk. A mod author then said "how about the fact that I have to clean up after [exe uploader] breaks another person's game?" The moderator then said "who says you have to?" How, exactly, was the moderator wrong? He's absolutely right, the mod authors don't have to sit around discord all day. If they are doing that, then that's their own self inflicted misery, and it's their own damn fault. If they have instructions for install up, that all they really are obligated to do (yes, if you're a mod author, I believe you're a jackass when you have zero install instructions. You know who you are). Beyond that, that's it. That's where their responsibility ends. The moderator was absolutely right, and if the mod authors are such snowflakes they can't handle that, then they don't need to be writing mods period. They obviously throw hissy fits the moment anything goes even remotely wrong, which absolutely will happen while modding.
