My own custom Arkham Knight skin

I'd like to make a custom Arkham Knight skin. I downloaded a few programs and looked over a few tutorials and think I've ended up in the complete wrong direction!

The idea is to turn the 1960s Adam West skin black and white, edit the symbol, and replace the cape to a longer one such as the BvS cape. I don't think textures alone can do this and I cannot find much of anything on how to do this. I'd prefer to do this myself, with help here, and if it looks great, I'll post it on this site; but I'll also post the idea on 'Mod Requests'.

 

I have UPK Explorer and TFC Installer, if I need those (found a tutorial on pcgamingwiki website that still hasn't worked). Blender, while currently uninstalled, can be re-installed rather easily. I own a copy of Photoshop CS6. And that's really all I can think of.
